Even though Wild Carrot Herbals doesn’t have their act together on their product labeling heres’ the skinny I got from the dirt girl herself:
“All of my products are gluten free with the exception of the lavender sandalwood mask and oatmeal bath, as they both contain oatmeal, which could potentially have some contamination. (not by us-but the manufacturer of the
oats)I do not have a certified gluten free facility.”
And our reply:
“Thanks for the quick reply! And thanks for letting me know you don’t have a certified gluten free facility. Do you know of any gluten in your facility other than potentially contaminated oats? Also, do you use the same equipment as you use with the oats on products that don’t contain those oats?
As you know the digestion rate for things like lip balm is high so one’s got to be careful.”
And Jody’s:
“The only potential item we use are the oats and we use completely different equipment for processing something like a face mask than we do with a lip balm, lotion or any other “liquid” item. We also take care not to manufacture them on the same days, so I would think the possibility of cross contamination would be quite slim.”
So do with this information what you will! If you are highly allergic beware of any of their “liquid” items as there will be slight cross contamination with non-gluten-free oats.
